A hand painted, one of a kind piece depicting the Caribbean endemic bird Puerto Rican Tody, or known in Puerto Rico as the San Pedrito. Super tiny and enamored by those who get a chance to spot it. They say it rests mostly by water, which is no wonder you may find it in the banks of the many rivers that run through the island. Definitely a bird that makes its presence known.

The vase was sourced directly from Mexico and hand-treated with sealant to house your favorite plant babies and withstand periodic watering; as well as , a final glaze to protect the hand painted artwork.

It works great for a unique gift for nature lovers, birders, and other enthusiasts in love with what nature gifts us everyday.Although the pots give a reference to the Mexican artisan cup, jarritos, they are not designed to drink from, and should only be used for decorative purposes.

About the San Pedrito

A tiny, brilliant-green resident of wooded habitats. There are no similar species within its range. Typically perches at low to middle levels in the forest and sallies forth to snag insects from the undersides of leaves. When not actively pursuing a meal, sits rather motionless. Most active, and thus most easily seen, when the sun comes out following rain. Most often first detected by its voice: a loud buzzy “zhip, zhip.”
